Parish Registers 1559 to 1875

Most of the original Church Parish Registers are stored at the Suffolk Record Office (SRO) Ipswich, but they are not readily available to the public. All the data is now stored on microfiches that can be accessed at the SRO.

A selection of transcripts of some of the Parish Registers can be accessed here. They have been transcribed by members of the Heritage Group, but there are only a limited number of transcripts.

A fuller number of transcripts, over 3000, can be viewed through the free  www.familysearch.org website. It is necessary to either register or to login at no cost and then to search for 'Campsea Ashe' in the search box.

The Family Search site has transcripts as follows:

Type Dates Total number
Births 1644 to 1866 107
Christenings 1559 to 1806 477
Marriages 1559 to 1875 1806
Deaths 1606 to 1873 707
Undated other records   318
  Total no of records 3415

Hard copies of the above transcripts will soon be available for viewing in the Church.
